Ms. Sheila Nair

In 2011, she founded Thought Frame, a strategic advisory that initially focused on the hospitality sector and later expanded into the social sector in 2015. Her areas of expertise include development, strategy, and business planning, as well as the creation of new business ventures across various market segments. Her corporate experience spans a broad spectrum of core hospitality and hospitality-related products, as well as the social sector, particularly in cancer management (non-medical civil services).


Ms. Sheila Nair is a veteran of the hospitality industry in India, with over 25 years of experience, including more than two decades in senior leadership positions with the Taj Group of Hotels, focusing on business development, new ventures, and serving as Director of Operations for Business Hotels in North and West India. She was also the CEO of Innovative Foods and COO of Roots Corporation. She is credited with the Taj Group's foray into the economy segment with the Ginger brand, under the guidance of the late management guru Dr. C.K. Prahalad. She served as a director on several Taj companies and was a governor on the board of IHM Aurangabad, acting as a key coordinator between the Board Directors and the management of the institute.


She also served as the CEO of Jodhana Heritage, a partnership between the Jodhpur royal family and Apodis Fund, for the Welcome Heritage properties. She launched Ranvas, a heritage project at Nagaur, which was recognized as one of the top 10 boutique hotels launched in 2011 by Condé Nast Travelers.


Additionally, she worked as a consultant for Swiss International on market entry strategy and served as Director of MSR Hotels of the Ramaiah Group in Bangalore, acting as a key advisor for operations management in discussions with the Mövenpick brand, among other hospitality sector engagements.


In the cancer field, she contributed first as a volunteer, then as Director General of the Indian Cancer Society, and as Director of Resource Mobilization at Tata Trusts. She has represented the Union for International Cancer Control (the apex body for cancer worldwide) as a speaker at WHO Regional meetings in Southeast Asia, as well as at The Economist’s Southeast Asian events in Singapore. She served on the prestigious Group Advisory Committees for the HDFC Cancer Cure Fund.
